Wi-Fi - Understanding the CloudControl+ (in.touch 3) Connected Spa Technology
The Bullfrog Spas CloudControl+ (operating on the in.touch 3 and in.touch 3+ tech platforms) is an internet-connected system that allows you to monitor and control your Bullfrog Spa remotely using your smartphone. This guide explains how the system works, what features it offers, and how to set it up and troubleshoot common issues.
Overview
The CloudControl+ system (operating on the in.touch 3 platform) is a remote connectivity solution that connects your spa to your home network, allowing you to control it from anywhere.
Using the mobile app, you can:
- Adjust temperature
- Control jets and lighting
- Monitor spa status
The in.touch 3+ platform includes all of these features, with the added ability to monitor water conditions using an integrated Gecko Waterlab sensor.
How the CloudControl+ System Works
The system uses two main components:
- CO Module (Spa Module) installed on the spa
- EN Module (Home Module) connected to your home router
These two modules communicate via radio frequency (RF), while the home module connects to the internet.
This allows:
- Your spa to communicate with your home network
- Your smartphone app to connect through the internet
- Full remote control from anywhere
The RF connection between modules is designed to be stable and long-range for reliable communication.
Key Features
Remote Spa Control
Turn your smartphone into a spa control panel:
- Adjust temperature remotely
- Turn jets and lights on/off
- Change settings without going outside
Reliable Connectivity
The system uses dedicated RF communication between modules, helping maintain:
- Strong signal
- Stable connection
- Reliable performance over distance
Continuous Updates
The system supports updates that:
- Improve performance
- Add compatibility with newer products
in.touch 3 vs in.touch 3+
in.touch 3
- Remote spa control
- App-based operation
- Connectivity only
in.touch 3+
- Includes all in.touch 3 features
- Adds water monitoring capability
- Integrates with Gecko Waterlab system for 24/7 tracking
Installation Overview
CO Module (Spa)
- Installed under the spa cabinet
- Positioned as high as possible
- Should face toward your home/router
- Must be at least 12 inches (30 cm) away from metal components
- Connected directly to the spa control system
EN Module (Home)
- Plugs into your home router using an Ethernet cable
- Requires a nearby power outlet
- Provides the internet connection for the system
Proper placement is critical for strong communication between modules.
Setup Requirements
To use the system, you need:
- A home router with an available Ethernet port
- 2.4hz connection speed
- Internet access
- A compatible smartphone (iOS or Android)
- The in.touch mobile app
Most standard routers work, but port access (typically port 10022) must be available for proper communication.
Indicator Lights (What They Mean)
The system uses LED indicators to show status.
Home Module (EN)
- Blue: Normal operation (connected to internet)
- Green: Connected to router, but cannot reach server
- Red: Not connected to router
- Flashing Yellow: Pairing mode
Spa Module (CO)
- Blue: Normal operation
- Flashing Yellow: Pairing mode
- Flashing (both modules): No communication between modules
These lights help quickly identify connection or setup issues.
Common Troubleshooting Steps
App Cannot Connect
Check:
- Internet connection at home
- Router connection to EN module
- LED status (should be blue)
Modules Not Communicating
- Ensure modules are within range
- Reduce obstructions (especially metal)
- Reposition spa module if needed - the spa module can be moved around the spa to the location facing the home. There is about 9 ft of cord available to relocate this behind the spa cabinet on any side. It cannot be left outside as it is not waterproof.
Pairing Issues
To re-pair modules:
- Enable pairing mode on the home module
- Power cycle the spa at the breaker
- Wait for automatic pairing
Modules are typically pre-paired from the factory but can be re-paired if needed.
Performance Tips
- Keep modules as close as practical
- Avoid placing near metal barriers
- Ensure consistent power to both modules
- Maintain a stable home internet connection
What to Expect
When properly installed and connected:
- You can control your spa from anywhere
- The system maintains a stable connection
- Settings update in real-time through the app
Confidence in Connectivity
The CloudControl+ system adds convenience and control to your Bullfrog Spa experience. Whether you choose the standard version or the enhanced 3+ system, you get reliable remote access and a smarter way to manage your spa.
