Before Delivery: How to Prepare

Choose the Right Location

Your spa must be placed on a flat, structurally sound surface capable of supporting the combined weight of the spa, water, and occupants. A filled spa can weigh up to 6,000 lbs, and swim spas can approach 20,000 lbs depending on the model.

Recommended foundations include:

  • Poured concrete slabs at least 4 inches thick
  • Reinforced decks designed for spa loads
  • Concrete pavers or bricks
  • Properly contained crushed rock or pea gravel

Consulting a licensed contractor is strongly recommended to confirm your site meets load and stability requirements.

Confirm Electrical Installation

Your electrical setup must be completed before delivery. Most Bullfrog Spas require a dedicated 240 or 120‑volt circuit with a GFCI breaker. Certain larger models require higher amperage.

Bullfrog Spas does not install wiring. A licensed electrician should:

  • Install the correct breaker
  • Run approved conduit and wiring
  • Ensure all work meets local electrical codes

Standard deliveries use specialized spa moving equipment. For a standard delivery, the path should:

  • Be reasonably flat
  • Accommodate up to 3′6″ wide and up to 9′ long
  • Allow the spa to rest no more than 4 feet off the ground
