Always lock the cover when the spa is not in use.

Startup and Pump Priming

After restoring power:

  1. Allow the control panel to initialize.
  2. Verify the home screen appears.
  3. Turn on Pump 1 at low speed.
  4. Once water flow is visible, switch Pump 1 to high speed.
  5. Repeat for additional pumps if equipped.
  6. Verify water is flowing from all associated jets.

Important Priming Information

Never allow pumps to run without water flow for more than two minutes.

If a pump fails to prime:

  • Cycle the pump off and back on.
  • Repeat no more than five times.
  • If water still does not flow, turn off power and contact your dealer.

Many shell jets are also adjustable for customized hydrotherapy.

Water Care Basics

Maintaining proper water chemistry protects bathers and spa equipment.

Recommended Water Balance

For FROG® @ease® systems:

  • pH: 7.2–7.6
  • Total Alkalinity: 80–120 ppm
  • Calcium Hardness: 150–250 ppm

For traditional sanitation:

  • pH: 7.4–7.6
  • Total Alkalinity: 125–150 ppm
  • Chlorine: 3–5 ppm
  • Bromine: 3–6 ppm

Water Care Best Practices

  • Test water 2–3 times per week minimum.
  • Adjust pH before adjusting sanitizer levels.
  • Shock the water weekly or as needed.
  • Use stain and scale protection products when necessary.
  • Use water clarifier if water becomes cloudy.

Important Sanitizer Warning

Never use Trichlor chlorine tablets in a Bullfrog Spa.

Trichlor can damage spa surfaces and components and will void warranty coverage.
