# 2020 Bullfrog Spas (all series) Owner's Manual Quick Guide

## This guide provides a simplified overview of the most important information from the 2020 Bullfrog Spas Owner's Manual for M Series, A Series, R Series, STIL, and X Series spas. It covers startup, operation, maintenance, water care, troubleshooting, and warranty information in a more concise and customer-friendly format.

 Important Safety Reminders

For safe operation:

- Never allow children to use the spa without supervision.
- Keep the spa covered and locked when not in use.
- Never use electrical appliances near the spa.
- Do not use the spa if water temperature exceeds 104°F (40°C).
- Always test the GFCI before use.
- Maintain proper water chemistry.
- Never operate the spa without filters installed.

 Filling Your Spa

To help prevent airlocks:

### M Series

- Remove the SnapCap and access the opening behind a JetPak.
- Place the hose directly into the opening behind the JetPak.
- Fill to the water level indicator.

### A Series, R Series, STIL, and X Series

- Remove the filter cap.
- Place the hose inside the filter compartment.
- Fill to the water level indicator.

After filling:

- Check for leaks.
- Install and secure the cover.
- Turn power on only after the spa is full.

 First Startup

After applying power:

1. Allow the control panel to initialize.
2. Turn on Jet Pump 1.
3. Verify water is flowing from the jets.
4. Repeat for additional pumps if equipped.
5. Set your desired temperature.

Never allow pumps to run without water flow for more than two minutes.

 Water Care Modes

All 2020 models include several operating modes.

### Standard Mode

Best for daily use.

- Maintains temperature continuously.
- Keeps spa ready at all times.

### Energy Savings

Best for evening use.

- Reduces temperature during daytime hours.
- Heats normally at night and weekends.

### Super Energy Savings (Factory Default)

 Water Care Basics

Recommended water parameters:

 Filter Maintenance

### M Series

- Replace filters approximately every 4 weeks (or as needed) or clean every 30 days and replace every 90 days.

### A Series, R Series, STIL, and X Series

- Clean filters every 3–6 weeks.

 Draining and Refilling

Depending on usage, water should generally be replaced every 1–4 months.

When changing water:

- Turn off power.
- Use the built-in drain.
- Clean the shell and JetPak areas.
- Refill through the filter compartment or JetPak opening.
- Rebalance water chemistry.

 JetPak Care

JetPaks can be removed for:

- Cleaning
- Repositioning
- Upgrading

When installing or removing a JetPak:

- Place the spa in Standby Mode.
- Use the manifold area as the lifting point.
- Do not pull on the acrylic face.

 Winter Care

For absences longer than two weeks:

- Use Away Mode.
